Hi. My name is Misato Niwa and I go to this school called United World College South East Asia also known as UWCSEA. I’m Japanese and I love spending time with my friends and family and doing tennis :) I also really like drawing and painting, like for example, for my parents, on their birthday. I usually make collages, cut and paste, draw a picture of the 3 of us, and maybe paint something that is bright and happy. My favourite type of art is abstract art. I really like blending in the colours with each other and using different type of colours. For example, Picasso’s drawings and painting are just fabulously abstract and the minute I see it I just felt that I would always love his paintings and drawings.
This is one of Picasso’s work - http://www.art.com/products/p10020068-sa-i790093/pablo-picasso-mediterranean-landscape.htm?sOrig=CAT&sOrigID=0&dimVals=786960&ui=67E9A723A84C4CB1BD5486329F89B7F1
For my dad’s birthday, I drew my dad a parrot in green and colourful background as I wanted to do a drawing for him. The colours are bold and bright because I really wanted my dad to celebrate his birthday happily. Also, my dad had a parrot called Hatchi when he was little and I also wanted to bring him back his childhood days too !
And this is the picture of the art that I drew - By me, Misato Niwa.
I would really like feedback as I would like to know what I could improve on and how I could make things better.
Thank you :)
See you soon.
I can really see the energy you put into this lively work, Misato. I can really see the reference to Picasso in your work, but I can also feel Cezanne and Matisse creeping in there too... Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHi Misato! I'm Sid (also from UWCSEA) and I really love the parrot you drew for your dad! I was scrolling down the page and I came across this lovely painting! I'm also a huge fan of Picasso and I love abstract art too! I like how you haven't made the background a plain old green but you've actually blended different tones and used many cool textures and patterns to make it even more eye-catching! I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your work!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your painting of the parrot. It is really that you drew it for your dad. I love the way it looks like you used simple shapes to piece together a bigger picture. Why did you choose dots to make the background. It looks really good. The only thing I would do is make some of the lines straighter. Other then that, it is really nice.

ReplyDeleteHey Misato, it's Simr (remember you commented on my artwork; Mt. Fuji?). Your painting is colorful and abstract. I like how you have many different colorful patterns in the background. Keep up the good work! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Misato! I really love your painting! It is really colorful and nice. I really like the way you contrasted the different tones of colors. I also like the different types of lines and shaped you included. Like the zig zag line, the small circles, curved lines and straight lines. To make it even better maybe you could fill in the white spaces. Good job Misato xx
