Heather

Hi, I’m Heather and I’m a middle school student from UWCSEA. I was born in Singapore and have not moved ever since!:) A few of my hobbies would be, boxing, talking to my friends, playing guitar and singing. Art is also a big part of my life, I find that when I sometimes get stressed or if I am not feeling very well, then I can release my feelings onto a canvas. When I am also trying to remember lyrics, I create a picture or a story line within what the song means. This means that when I am performing I have something to follow, in case I forget the lyrics I will just make something up along the storyline. This piece of artwork I have done reminded me of a set of doors my grandparents' friends have. During the winter I usually go over to their place for a while to catch up and drink hot tea, I have always remembered their door because they always decorate it so lovely with flowers and ribbons. Whenever I go over to their house I always feel warm, cozy and very comfortable. That is the feeling I am hoping to give to the viewers of my artwork. I believe the door makes a difference to a house. Picture this, having a really really old creaking door as an entrance to a beautiful tall mansion. Any door to any house gives an influence to the rest of it. The door adds effect onto the house and gives it a first impression before you enter. I have not completed my work completely as yet, but I’m wide open to suggestions that you might have! Best Regards, Heather

Arya

Hello my name is Arya, Im in United world college of south east Asia. I am from india. I really like basketball and I am also interested in landmarks and photography. My favorite type of art is probably photography because its really amazing how you see other countries and there landmarks and how different countries are and there cultures.

My best piece of art was probably a one that I did in grade 6 of a pretty pink flower which I took a photo of when our class went to the botanical gardens and i had zoomed in to the middle and i think the painting I did turned out pretty good honestly. This piece is a photo that I took was my view from my balcony. my advice for photography take lots of pictures and choose the best one out of all.

Hello. My name is Selma and I am a thirteen year old girl that lives in Singapore. I was born in Norway and I moved to the United States when I was about two years old. After three years, I moved to Switzerland and lived there for one year. Next, I moved to Brazil and I lived there for over 8 years. And now I live in Singapore! At the moment I am studying at United World College in the 7th grade. I am new this year and so far I have made lots of amazing friends that are very special to me. I have many hobbies such as, playing football, playing tennis, cross country, watching movies, drawing, reading and much more.

My favourite type of art would either be painting or photography. Meanwhile I’ve been living in Singapore, I have visited many photography exhibitions and art museums that I have enjoyed very much. When my teacher first told us about this blog I was very excited. I really like commenting and giving tips on other people’s art work and I would be more than happy if you had some opinions or tips on how I could improve mine.

I like the action of the baseball player as it looks as if he hit the ball really hard.
